About Me

Heather Niemann
I am a graphic designer and artist, and amateur jack-of-all-trades. I love trying new, creative ideas. As a mom of three children, the youngest of which is in preschool, I have very little time to pursue my "hobbies." My current love is cake designing. My interest in all things homemade, from baking to creating to sewing (at which I am pretty terrible) was inspired by my best friend's mom. As a kid, I was drawn to their house, where there was always fresh-baked bread, homemade candies and super creative cakes. She also made us clothes for our Barbies, some of which I still have. I was never very good at the "Wilton" style cake decorating with buttercream and a pastry bag. When my sister-in-law introduced me to homemade fondant, I was hooked! I'm been creating cakes for about two years now, and am still in love with the process. In addition to my cake designing hobby, I have a graphic design business (freelance), and am trying to teach my children art when I have a chance. Thanks for stopping by!
